39. Proclaiming “Hispanic Heritage Month” in Los Angeles County\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Solis: Proclaim September 15,\n2023 through October 15, 2023 as “Hispanic Heritage Month” throughout Los\nAngeles County, and acknowledge the Los Angeles County Hispanic Managers\nAssociation, the Los Angeles County Chicano Employees Association, Edward\nJames Olmos, Giselle Fernandez, Martin Herrera, Sergio Basterrechea, Debbie\nMota, Hector Plascencia, Lucia Torres, Diosa Femme, and Alba Gabriela, for\ntheir selfless contributions; waive $4,000 in parking fees for approximately 200\nvehicles at the Music Center Garage, excluding the cost of liability insurance,\nfor community members attending the First Supervisorial District’s Hispanic\nHeritage Month Reception, to be held October 13, 2023 from 9:00 am to 3:00\npm; direct the Chief Executive Officer, through the Countywide\nCommunications office, along with all County Departments, and request the\nSheriff, District Attorney, Assessor, and the Superintendent of the Los Angeles\nCounty Office of Education, to work with LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, the Los\nAngeles County Museum of Art, The Music Center, the Directors of Parks and\nRecreation and Arts and Culture, and the County Librarian, in promoting and\nsponsoring their Hispanic Heritage Month related events, programs, and\nresources, including on respective websites and social media platforms; and\ndirect the Chief Executive Officer to work with County Departments, the Los\nAngeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and relevant\ncommunity-based organizations, and report back to the Board in writing in 120\ndays on an annual Countywide event, to begin in 2024, that commemorates\nHispanic Heritage Month.
