44. Education Specialist Services Contract\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Children and Family Services to\nexecute a contract with the Los Angeles County Office of Education to provide\nEducation Specialist Services for foster youth, at an estimated maximum annual\ncontract amount of $2,632,505, effective July 1, 2023, or the date of execution,\nthrough June 30, 2024, with up to two additional one-year extension options,\nand a maximum contract amount for the three-year term of $7,897,515, 100%\nfunded by State Realignment funds, with sufficient funding included in the\nFiscal Year 2023-24 Recommended Budget; and authorize the Director to take\nthe following actions: (Department of Children and Family Services)\nAPPROVE\nExercise the extension options to extend the contract by amendment or\nwritten notice, and to further extend the contract for a period not to\nexceed six months beyond June 30, 2026, if such additional time is\nnecessary to complete the negotiation or solicitation of a new contract;\nExecute amendments to increase or decrease the maximum annual\ncontract amount up to 10%, if such an amendment is necessary to meet\nchange in service demands and the necessary funding is available in the\nbudget; and\nExecute amendments to the contract for changes to the terms and\nconditions of the contract to meet program needs.
