Proclaiming September 2023 as “Los Angeles County Step Out Walk to\nStop Diabetes Month”\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisor Barger: Proclaim the month of\nSeptember 2023 as “Los Angeles County Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes\nMonth” which encourages all employees to live a healthier lifestyle and\nsuccessfully manage diabetes and reduce the risk for developing diabetes;\ninstruct all County Departments to support the American Diabetes Association\nStep Out SoCal Walk event by registering and supporting fundraising efforts;\nencourage County Department Public Information Officers to promote and\ndistribute materials related to the Step Out SoCal Walk event; encourage\nCounty Department Wellness Coordinators to promote the 2023 American\nDiabetes Association Step Out SoCal Walk and encourage colleagues to\nparticipate and support; and instruct the Interim Auditor-Controller to publicize\nthe Step Out SoCal Walk on the August 15, 2023 paycheck run and encourage\nactive employee participation.
