74. Whittier Narrows Recreation Area's Legg Lakes Water Production\nAgreement\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Parks and Recreation to execute an\namendment to an agreement with the California Department of Toxic\nSubstances Control and the Main San Gabriel Basin Watermaster, to extend the\nexisting agreement for a period not to exceed 12 months, for the purpose of\nnegotiating a new long-term agreement, and change terms, as necessary, to\nlimit the water discharge volume into the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area’s\nLegg Lakes (1) to the amount necessary to maintain water levels appropriate for\nrecreational purposes, which is estimated to be approximately 1,300 acre-feet\nannually; and find that the proposed approval of the agreement is exempt from\nthe California Environmental Quality Act.
