20. Support for Assembly Bill 1512 (Bryan): Preserving Social Security\nBenefits for Youth in Foster Care\nRecommendation as submitted by Supervisors Solis and Horvath: Direct the\nChief Executive Officer, through the Legislative Affairs and Intergovernmental\nRelations Division, to advocate in support of Assembly Bill 1512 (Bryan), the\ncorresponding $46,000,000 budget request, and similar legislation, which would\npromote safe and supported transitions to independence for young people in\nfoster care who are eligible for Social Security Administration benefits, by\nensuring all eligible youth will exit foster care with those benefits in place, and\nwill be given control of a savings account funded with any unused benefits\nreceived on their behalf while in care.
