43. The Public Health Nurse Early Intervention Program\nRecommendation: Authorize and instruct the Director of Public Health to accept\nand implement a Letter of Allocation (LOA) from the California Department of\nSocial Services (CDSS), to support a new Public Health Nurse Early\nIntervention program in the Child Welfare Public Health Nursing in the\nDepartment of Public Health's Children's Medical Services for the period of\nJanuary 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023, at an estimated amount of $8,250,000,\nwith funding included in the Department’s Fiscal Year 2022-23 budget and will\nbe included in future fiscal years, as necessary; and accept future LOAs\nand/or amendments from CDSS that are consistent with the provisions and\nrequirements of the LOA that extend the funding periods or for new\nterms/periods at amounts to be determined by CDSS, reflect revisions to the\nLOA’s terms and conditions including, but not be limited to, the rollover of\nunspent funds, redirection of funds, and/or increase or decrease funding.\n(Department of Public Health) APPROVE (23-1271)\nAttachments: Board Letter\nPublic Comment/ Correspondence\nCommunity Services
