48. On-Call Design and Related Services for Various Seismic Retrofit Projects\nContract\nRecommendation: Award and authorize the Director of Public Works to execute\nconsultant services agreements to provide on-call design and related services\nfor various seismic retrofit projects in the County, with the following firms: three\nsmall-sized firms: Onyx Architects, Inc., PBWS Architects, LLP, and RACAIA\nInc.; two medium-sized firms: IDS Group, Inc. and RBB Architects Inc.; and\ntwo large-sized firms: M. Arthur Gensler Jr. & Associates, Inc. and Perkins\nEastman Architects, for an aggregate program amount not to exceed\n$35,000,000 for the entire three-year term, plus two additional two-year\nextension options, if exercised, and subject to the additional extension\nprovisions specified; and authorize the Director to take the following related\nactions: (Department of Public Works) APPROVE\nAuthorize additional services for each of the seven agreements, extend\nthe contract expiration dates as necessary to complete those additional\nservices when services are previously unforeseen, related to a previously\nassigned scope of work on a given project, and necessary for the\ncompletion of that given project;\nSupplement the initial not-to-exceed program amount of $35,000,000 by\nup to 25% of the original program amount, based on workload\nrequirements; and\nAdminister the agreements and at the discretion of the Director, exercise\nthe extension options, based upon project demands and the level of\nsatisfaction with the services provided, with no change to the initial\nnot-to-exceed program amount.
