F.8.\nRECOGNITION OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S DAY AND AMENDMENT\nTO CITY PARKING HOLIDAY LIST [L. MEISTER, Y. QUARKER, A.\nLOVANO, J. DEL TORO, K. NORDMAN]:\nSUBJECT:\nThe City Council will consider adopting a resolution\nrecognizing the second Monday in October as Indigenous People’s Day\nand replacing references to “Columbus Day” in the City’s parking policies\nwith “Indigenous People’s Day.” The resolution will also direct staff to\nupdate associated parking meter decals as part of a phased replacement\nprocess.\nRECOMMENDATIONS:\n1) Adopt Resolution No. 25-_____: “A\nRESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST\nHOLLYWOOD RECOGNIZING THE SECOND MONDAY IN OCTOBER\nAS INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ DAY AND UPDATING CITY PARKING\nPOLICY TO REFLECT THIS CHANGE”; 2) Direct the Communications\nDepartment to utilize all appropriate communications tools to raise\nawareness about Indigenous People’s Day, including sharing information\nvia social media platforms; and 3) Direct the Parking Services Division to\nupdate parking meter decals to reflect the change from “Columbus Day” to\n“Indigenous People’s Day” as part of a phased replacement process.
