12A. REVIEW OF EXISTING MUNICIPAL CODE REGULATIONS RELATED TO FENCING,\nWALLS, AND HEDGES IN COMMERCIAL ZONES\nAt the January 14, 2025 City Council meeting, Council Member Barrios requested to\nagendize an item related to fencing regulations throughout commercial areas in the City.\nAt its meeting of January 28, 2025, the City Council received consensus and directed\nstaff to review the existing regulations and prepare a staff report. The Council expressed\nparticular concern regarding fencing that would assist commercial property owners in\nsecuring their properties. Staff reviewed Stanton Municipal Code Chapter 20.310 Fences,\nWalls, and Hedges, and prepared a summary of existing fence regulations for Council\nreview. This report also includes additional information regarding industry standard\nregulations for commercial fencing as well as potential alternatives and subsequent\nimpacts.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council receive report on existing fence regulations, other municipal fence\nregulations, and potential security options; and\n2. Provide direction to staff.\nStanton City Council Agenda
