9G.\nACCEPTANCE OF THE FY 2023/24 CITYWIDE ALLEY RESURFACING PROJECT\n(TASK CODE NO. 2025-107) BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STANTON,\nCALIFORNIA\nThe FY 2023/24 Citywide Alley Resurfacing Project consisting of demolition and\nremovals, clearing and grubbing, grading and earthwork, concrete work (ramps and\nsidewalks), asphalt pavement, signing and striping, and all appurtenant work for various\nalleys throughout the City of Stanton is now complete. The City Engineer, in his judgment,\ncertifies that the work was satisfactorily completed as of September 2, 2025, and\nrecommends that the City Council accept the completed work performed on this project.\nStanton City Council Agenda\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\n1. City Council find that this project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality\nAct (“CEQA”), Class 1, and 15301(c) as repair, maintenance, and minor alteration of\nexisting streets, sidewalks, gutters, and similar facilities; and\n2. Accept the completion of improvements for the FY 2023/24 Citywide Alley Resurfacing\nProject, as certified by the City Engineer, and affix the date of September 9, 2025, as\nthe date of completion of all work on this project; and\n3. Approve the final construction contract amount of $661,250.00 with Sequel\nContractors, Inc.; and\n4. Direct the City Clerk within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance to file the Notice\nof Completion (Attachment) with the County Clerk-Recorder of the County of Orange;\nand\n5. Direct City staff, after thirty-five (35) days has elapsed from the filing of the “Notice of\nCompletion” with the County Clerk-Recorder, to make the retention payment to Sequel\nContractors, Inc. in the amount of $33,062.50.
