B.13. CO-SPONSORSHIP OF NEXT CHAPTER WRITERS' SUMMIT:\nCELEBRATING LGBTQIA+ AND BIPOC VOICES IN PARTNERSHIP\nWITH LOS ANGELES COUNTY LIBRARY [Y. QUARKER, A. LOVANO,\nJ. DEL TORO]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider approving a Co-sponsorship\nAgreement with LA County Library for its daylong event: Next Chapter\nWriters' Summit: Celebrating LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC Voices, taking place\non October 5, 2025, at the West Hollywood Library, West Hollywood Park,\nand Aquatic and Recreation Center.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Approve a Co-sponsorship Agreement with LA\nCounty Library for its daylong event: Next Chapter Writers' Summit:\nCelebrating LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC Voices, taking place on Sunday,\nOctober,5 2025 in the West Hollywood Library, various rooms of the\nAquatic and Recreation Center, and on the South Lawn of West\nHollywood Park; 2) Authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute\ndocuments incident to the Co-sponsorship Agreement between the City\nand LA County Library; 3) Authorize the use of the City name and logo on\ninvitations, programs, and other collateral materials for this event; 4) Direct\nthe Communications Department to utilize all appropriate communication\ntools to promote the events including, but not limited to, the City’s website,\npress release, and social media tools; and 5) Waive the Facility Use Fee,\nSpecial Event Permit Fee, Encroachment fee, parking at the 5-story\nparking structure for up to 35 event volunteers and vendors’ peddler’s\npermits and business tax licensing fees for vendors at the event, and any\nother ancillary fees for vendors and event organizers (estimated $13,397).
