8.9 AWARD OF CONTRACT TO BLUE ANGEL INTERNATIONAL, LLC FOR THE\nPURCHASE OF NEW ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE (AMI)\nCOMPATIBLE WATER METER BOXES AND LIDS AS PART OF THE CITY’S AMI\nMETER REPLACEMENT PROGRAM, CIP NO. 4011.68.093.\nComments:\nThe City has been working over the last few years on a program to replace the City’s\n9,183 existing water meters with new smart water meters and smart points as part of the\nAdvanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Meter Replacement project. The new smart\nwater meters will be able to send electronically daily water usage data through the FlexNet Network to the Water Billing Department for bi-monthly water bills. The City will\npurchase and receive the new meter lids. There is currently a long lead time of 14 to 16\nweeks to receive shipment of the new meter lids. (PW)\nRecommendation:\nStaff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution entitled: “A\nRESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING A\nCONTRACT TO BLUE ANGEL INTERNATIONAL, LLC FOR THE PURCHASE OF NEW\nAMI COMPATIBLE WATER METER BOXES AND LIDS AS PART OF CITY’S AMI\nMETER REPLACEMENT PROGRAM, CIP NO. 4011.68.093; AUTHORIZING THE\nMAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT.”
