2. REVIEW OF CITY COMMITTEES 23-1148\nRECOMMENDATION:\nStaff recommends the City Council:\n1. Review Committees Statement of Work and provide direction.\n2. Dissolve the Historical Preservation Committee and direct staff to\nfacilitate an agreement with the Costa Mesa Historical Society.\n3. Approve the following changes:\na. Adjust the Committees membership to consist of seven (7)\nmembers, except the Access, Building, Fire & Housing Board of\nAppeal, and Traffic Impact Fee Ad Hoc Committees, which shall\nconsist of five (5) members, through attrition as terms expire.\nb. Eliminate the Committee Alternate positions, through attrition as\nterms expire.\nc. Limit the number of Ad Hoc Committees to one (1) at a time,\nunless due to special circumstances, in which case the City\nManager may authorize one (1) additional Ad Hoc Committee. The\nAd Hoc Committee will be set for a certain duration of time, not to\nexceed six (6) months. There shall be no standing committees,\nsubcommittees or working groups.\n4. Allow the City Manager the flexibility to adjust dates, durations, and times\nof meetings to ensure proper staff coverage, and to address issues of\nimmediate concern for maximum effectiveness.\nAttachments: 1.
