14. CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION RELATED TO AUTHORIZING THE\nCITY MANAGER TO 1) ENTER SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS WITH\nPURDUE PHARMA L.P. AND THE SACKLER FAMILY AND SECONDARY\nMANUFACTURERS, 2) REVERT FUNDS TO THE COUNTY OF LOS\nANGELES IF DEEMED APPROPRIATE, AND EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS\nNECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE ACTION, AND 3) AUTHORIZE THE CITY\nMANAGER TO PARTICIPATE IN FUTURE OPIOID SETTLEMENT\nAGREEMENTS.\nRecommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council take the\nfollowing actions:\n1.\nAdopt Resolution No. 25-29 and direct the City Manager or designee to\nenter into the Purdue Pharma settlement agreement and the Secondary\nManufacturers (Alvogen, Amneal, Apotex, Hikma, Indivior, Mylan, Sun,\nand Zydus);\n2.\nDirect the settlement funds to Los Angeles County for opioid abatement\npurposes if deemed appropriate and authorize the City Manager or\ndesignee to execute any documents necessary to implement the action\nand;\n3.\nAuthorize the City Manager to participate in future opioid settlement\nagreements.\nStaff Report\nAttachment A\nAttachment B
