6.\nPUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE: AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE GRANT RELATED DOCUMENTS FOR THE STATE OF\nCALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT AWARD AND AMEND\nTHE POLICE DEPARTMENT’S FISCAL YEAR 2026 OPERATING BUDGET BY RECOGNIZING REVENUE AND APPROPRIATING $545,000 IN\nGRANT FUNDS (PPD)\nRecommendation: It is recommended that the City Council:\n(1)\nFind that the project proposed in the agenda report is exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section\n15061(b)(3), the “Common Sense” exemption that CEQA applies only to projects that\nmay have an effect on the environment;\n(2)\nAuthorize the City Manager to execute all grant-related documents pertaining to the State of California Office of Traffic Safety Grant (OTS)\naward in the amount of $545,000 and\n(3)\nAmend the Police Department’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Operating Budget by recognizing revenue and appropriating $545,000 in the General\nFund (101) as detailed in the Fiscal Impact Section of this report.\nCity Council
