9.J. S. Atlantic Blvd and E. Emerson Ave Overlay and Slurry Seal Project – Award of\nContract\nIt is recommended that the City Council consider:\n1. Authorizing the City Manager to execute a public works contract, in a form approved\nby the City Attorney, with Onyx Paving Company, Inc., in the amount of $898,000 for\nthe Atlantic Blvd and Emerson Ave Overlay and slurry seal Project;\n2. Authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve change orders and contingency\nup to $89,800 (10%) of the contract amount, for a total project cost of $987,800; and\n3. Taking such additional, related, action that may be desirable.\nCEQA (California Environmental Quality Act):\nThe City reviewed the environmental impacts of the proposed Ordinance pursuant to the\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code §§ 21000, et seq. “CEQA”)\nand the regulations promulgated thereunder (14 Cal. Code of Regs. §§ 15000, et seq., the\n“CEQA Guidelines”). The proposed work is for the overlay of an existing City road.\nAccordingly, no further environmental review is required.
