35.\nPreparation and Support for Families Considering Adopting Children with\nSpecial Needs Services Sole Source Contract Amendment\nRecommendation: Authorize the Director of Children and Family Services to\nextend the sole source contract with the Regents of the University of California\nLos Angeles to provide preparation and support for families considering\nadopting children with special needs services for an additional one-year period\nbeyond the original contract term effective, November 1, 2025 through October\n31, 2026. The extension will enable the Department of Children and Family\nServices (DCFS) to release, process and complete a request for proposals to\nsolicit a new contract without a lapse or disruption in current services. The\nmaximum annual contract amount for the one-year extension is $479,000\nfinanced using 75% Federal funds, 17.5% State funds, and 7.5% Net County\nCost. Sufficient funding for this contract is included in the DCFS’ Fiscal Year\n2025-26 Adopted Budget and will be included in the Department’s FY 2026-27\nbudget request. Authorize the Director to further extend the contract by written\nnotice or amendment for an additional six months on an automatic\nmonth-to-month basis beyond October 31, 2026, if such time is necessary to\ncomplete the solicitation, provided that sufficient funding is available, approval is\nobtained, and the Director notifies the Board.
