(10) 22-1486 CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION (O’FARRELL – RODRIGUEZ – ET AL.) relative to the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and other international sports and major event organizers to codify human rights within the bylaws, require and promote the fair treatment of workers, women, LQBTQ+ community members and all marginalized people as a condition for participating nations and cities wherever international sporting events are held. Recommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE CONCURRENCE OF THE MAYOR: RESOLVE to call upon FIFA, the IOC, and other international sports and major event organizers to codify human rights within the bylaws, require and promote the fair treatment of workers, women, LQBTQ+ community members and all marginalized people as a condition for participating nations and cities wherever international sporting events are held.
