(19) 23-0045 MOTION (SOTO-MARTÍNEZ - HARRIS-DAWSON) relative to funding for the Los Angeles Department of Aging (DOA) Senior Emergency Meals Program for Older Adults. Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: AUTHORIZE the DOA to transfer identified savings into the Contractual Services account; to augment the funding and extend the contract term with its current provider (Everytable); and, per Council instruction, authorize the Department to submit an interim budget request for additional funding to continue the program beyond its current closing date of January 15, 2023. INSTRUCT the DOA to work with the Office of the City Administrative Officer to continue reviewing its budget to identify additional savings that could be added to the Department's contractual services account to further support the Senior Meals Program. AUTHORIZE the Controller to: Transfer Fiscal Year (FY) 21-22 General City Purpose (GCP) fund savings of $480,000 to FY 22-23 Senior Emergency Meals Program (SMP). Establish a new account and appropriate $480,000 within the Area Plan for the Aging Title III Fund Number 395 as follows: From: Account No. Account Title Amount 395/02/02VQ02 Congregate Meals For Seniors $480,000 To: Account No. Account Title Amount 395/02/02WQ12 Congregate Meals For Seniors $480,000 Make technical adjustments in the event that there are errors to these instructions, and authorize the Controller to implement the instructions.
