LA County Board

A-1. Continue local emergencies as a result of the following: (a) Discovery of an\ninfestation of fruit flies, as proclaimed on May 10, 1990; (b) Conditions of\ndisaster or of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property arose as a\nresult of the introduction of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), a novel\ncommunicable disease, which was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei\nProvince, China in December 2019, as proclaimed and ratified by the Board on\nMarch 4, 2020; (c) An imminent threat and proximate threat to public health\nfrom the introduction of COVID-19 in Los Angeles County, as proclaimed by\nthe Public Health Officer on March 4, 2020 and ratified by the Board on March\n4, 2020; (d) Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property\narose as a result of the Lake Fire that started in the unincorporated area of\nLake Hughes on August 12, 2020, as proclaimed on August 13, 2020 and\nratified by the Board on August 18, 2020; (e) Conditions of extreme peril to the\nsafety of persons and property arose as a result of the Bobcat Fire that ignited\nin the Angeles National Forest on September 6, 2020 and rapidly spread to\nsurrounding areas, as proclaimed on September 13, 2020 and ratified by the\nBoard on September 15, 2020; (f) An imminent threat to public health from the\nLake Fire and the Bobcat Fire that started on August 12, 2020 and September\n6, 2020, respectively, in Los Angeles County, as proclaimed by the Public\nHealth Officer on November 5, 2020 and ratified by the Board on November 10,\n2020; (g) Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons exist on the basis\nof pervasive and pernicious homelessness in Los Angeles County, as\nproclaimed and ratified by the Board on January 10, 2023; (h) Conditions of\nextreme peril to the safety of persons and property arose as a result of severe\nwinter storms beginning January 1, 2023 affecting areas throughout Los\nAngeles County, as proclaimed on January 10, 2023 and ratified by the Board\non January 17, 2023; and (i) Conditions of disaster or extreme peril to the\nsafety of persons and property on the basis of the frigid winter storms\nbeginning February 23, 2023 affecting the areas throughout Los Angeles\nCounty, as proclaimed on March 1, 2023 and ratified by the Board on March 7,\n2023.
