(18) 23-0129 CD 5 COMMUNICATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION AND PARKS (RAP) relative to the available strategies to preserve Senderos Canyon in Council District 5. Recommendations for Council action: APPROVE the RAP recommendation to begin discussions with the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC) on a potential partnership between the City and the SMMC if the Council desires to further the efforts to acquire the Senderos Canyon property. INSTRUCT the RAP to work with the City Administrative Officer (CAO) to explore potential partnerships and funding sources, including the County of Los Angeles, if the State demonstrates their interest in partnering with the City and moving forward with the acquisition. DIRECT the RAP to engage with the State on a partnership agreement to lay out the ground work for the acquisition, as well as the operation and maintenance of the site.
