(20) 17-0713 BUDGET, FINANCE AND INNOVATION COMMITTEE REPORT relative to a request for additional funding for outside counsel Munger, Tolles & Olson, LLP, for assistance with United States of America ex rel. Mei Ling and Fair Housing Council of San Fernando Valley v, City of Los Angeles, United States District Court Case No. CV-11-00974 PSG (JCx). Recommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: AUTHORIZE the City Attorney to amend Contract No. 143190 with Munger Tolles & Olson, LLP, to add funding in the amount of $4.6 million. INSTRUCT the Office of the City Administrative Officer to report in 2023-24 Financial Status Reports with recommendations to address any spending above the budgeted amount that results from the increases to the contract limits and usage authorized through this report. AUTHORIZE the City Attorney, or designee, to prepare Controller instructions for any necessary technical adjustments, subject to the approval of the City Administrative Officer (CAO), and authorize the Controller to implement the instructions.
