(16) 23-0944 ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the visible life cycle/biodegradable indicator on products and food packaging to better inform the public of the decomposition time-period in landfills for packaging materials used in consumer purchases. Recommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Rodriguez - Yaroslavsky): INSTRUCT the Bureau of Sanitation and REQUEST the City Attorney to report to the Council on the feasibility of requiring that products and food packaging include a visible lifecycle/biodegradable indicator to better inform the public of the decomposition time-period in landfills for packaging materials used in consumer purchases. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
