(19) 23-0911-S1 CD 8 PLANNING AND LAND USE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE REPORT relative to identifying funds to pay for the costs to secure the nuisance building known as the New Bay Motel, located at 8301 South Figueroa Street; and related matters. Recommendation for Council action, as initiated by Motion (Harris-Dawson - Yaroslavsky), SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE MAYOR: INSTRUCT the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) to pay for the costs in the amount of $37,941.30 to secure (fencing and boarding) the nuisance building known as the New Bay Motel located at 8301 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California 90044, using available funds from the Repair and Demolition Fund 346, inasmuch as the property has been declared a public nuisance. INSTRUCT the LADBS, with the assistance of the City Attorney, to take all actions necessary, consistent with the Los Angeles Municipal Code, to recover the above costs from the owner of the New Bay Motel located at 8301 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California 90044. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
