(4) 240294 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE REPORT relative to the maintenance of current and future pedestrian bridge and tunnel projects. Recommendations for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Blumenfield Raman): 1. INSTRUCT the Bureau of Engineering (BOE), with the assistance of the Bureau of Street Services (BSS), Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP), Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), and Bureau of Street Lighting (BSL), to report to Council with recommendations to determine which agencies will be responsible for maintenance of current and future pedestrian bridge and tunnel projects, including recommendations to incorporate maintenance needs in the planning and approval phases of future projects, as well as recommendations to incorporate agencies responsible for maintenance in the design of future projects. 2. INSTRUCT the BOE, with the assistance of the BSS, RAP, LADOT, and BSL, to report to Council on the current maintenance responsibilities for existing pedestrian bridges and tunnels, including ongoing funding needs for maintenance; and, to report to Council with recommendations to ensure consistent maintenance policies across all existing pedestrian bridges and tunnels. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
