12) A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER APPROVING FOR FIRST READING ADOPTION OF AN\nORDINANCE AMENDING DIVISION 3 (GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS) OF ARTICLE II (CITY\nCOUNCIL) OF CHAPTER 2 (ADMINISTRATION) OF THE SAN FERNANDO MUNICIPAL CODE TO\nCHANGE THE CITY’S GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION DATE FROM THE STATEWIDE ELECTION\nIN NOVEMBER OF EVEN-NUMBERED YEARS TO THE STATEWIDE ELECTION DATES THAT\nALTERNATES BETWEEN MARCH AND JUNE OF EVEN-NUMBERED YEARS BEGINNING JUNE 2,\n2026\nRecommend that the City Council wishes to change the date of the City’s General Municipal\nElection, it is recommended that the City Council:\na. Conduct a Public Hearing;\nb. Pending public testimony, approve first reading in title only and waive full reading of\nOrdinance No. 1737, titled: “An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of San Fernando,\nCalifornia, repealing prior Ordinance No. 1668 and amending Division 3 (General Municipal\nElections) of Article II (City Council) of Chapter 2 (Administration) of the San Fernando\nMunicipal Code to change the date of the City’s General Municipal Elections from the\nStatewide Election date in November of even-numbered years to the Statewide Election\ndate that alternates between March and June of even-numbered years beginning\nJune 2, 2026.”\nc.
