8.\nREQUEST TO WAIVE SPECIAL EVENT FEES FOR ALHAMBRA UNIFIED SCHOOL\nDISTRICT FOR THE 2025 ALHAMBRA HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE –\nF2M25-16, M2M25-150\nFor many years, Alhambra High School has held an annual Homecoming Parade in\ncelebration of school spirit and community pride. On September 9, 2025, the Assistant\nPrincipal from Alhambra High School submitted a Special Event Request Form for the\n2025 Homecoming Parade, which is scheduled for October 31, 2025. The form was\nprocessed, and the costs associated for the event include: street closures, safety\nmeasures and logistics. Following notification of payment due to the City for the Special\nEvent Permit, the City received a request from Alhambra Unified School District (AUSD)\nto waive the fees for the 2025 Homecoming Parade for one year. This waiver allows the\n2025 event to move forward, and it provides the necessary time for AUSD to explore\nfundraising opportunities or alternative arrangements for future year parades and events.\nNo fees have been charged in the past.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve a request from Alhambra Unified\nSchool District to waive the City’s fees associated with street closures, safety measures\nand logistics for the 2025 Alhambra High School Homecoming Parade on October 31,\n2025, in an amount not to exceed $10,000; and, direct staff to undertake the steps\nnecessary to finalize the Council’s action.
