12.\nAGREEMENT FOR THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA TO ASSUME\nMAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL FACILITIES\nWITHIN CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION\nJURISDICTION - This item considers approval of agreements authorizing the City of\nSanta Clarita to operate California Department of Transportation-owned traffic signals at\nfive intersections along Sierra Highway.\nRECOMMENDED ACTION:\nCity Council:\n1. Approve the Delegated Maintenance Agreement and Electrical Facilities Cost\nSharing Agreement from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to\naccept maintenance responsibility for traffic signals within Caltrans jurisdiction.\n2. Increase revenue account 354-462101 (Streetlight Maintenance Fund Miscellaneous\nRevenue) by $35,000 annually and appropriate ongoing $35,000 to expenditure\naccount 3544402-514107 (Traffic Signal Maintenance) annually, contingent upon the\nappropriation of funds in the annual budget for each fiscal year.\n3. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all documents, subject to City\nAttorney approval.\nPUBLIC PARTICIPATION\nThis time has been set aside for any speakers that have turned in speaker cards and were not\nheard in the first thirty minutes allotted to address the City Council on items that are NOT on the\nagenda.
