16. CONSIDERATION OF DESIGN OPTIONS FOR THE FAIR OAKS AVENUE NORTHSOUTH INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS DEPLOYMENT PROJECT AND\nAPPROVAL OF A CONTRACT AMENDMENT WITH LOCHNER COMPANY FOR\nADDITIONAL SERVICES AND COMPENSATION DEPENDING ON THE DESIGN\nOPTION\nRecommendation\nIt is recommended that the City Council review and select a bulb-out design option for the\nFair Oaks Avenue North-South Intelligent Transportation Systems Deployment Project\nfrom the following options:\n1. Modify the bulb-outs only if needed to attain ADA compliance for curb ramps and\nsmooth the curb line on the approach side of bulb-outs being modified.\n2. Remove bulb-outs only on the northeast and southwest corners along Hope Street,\nEl Centro, Oxley and Mission while maintaining bulb-outs along Fair Oaks Avenue.\n3. Reconstruct bulb-outs to provide a smooth curve.\n4. Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract amendment, in final\nform by the City Attorney, if a design alternative is selected that will require\nadditional design costs.
