DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED FEDERAL AND STATE FIREARM REGULATIONS –\nF2M23-7\nAt the March 13, 2023 Council meeting, Councilmember Lee requested an agendized item\nregarding support for legislation strengthening firearm control. Staff will present\ninformation regarding proposed federal and state legislative items regarding firearm\nregulation that are currently under consideration. Should the City Council find it\nappropriate to support any or all of the proposed federal and state legislative bills, staff\nwill proceed with preparing and submitting letters of support to the designated legislative\ncommittee(s).\nRecommended Action: City Council discuss certain federal and state firearm\nlegislation; and, direct staff as deemed appropriate.\n2\n4-10-23
