14. RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND APPROVAL OF A\nCONTRACT WITH MIKE PRLICH AND SONS, INC. FOR THE SEWER UPSIZING ON\nBRENNER AVE AND MELROSE ST PROJECT\nPresented by Cesar Ortiz, P.E., Associate Engineer\nPurpose: Authorize the Public Works Department to hire a contractor to upsize the existing\nsewer main on Brenner Ave and Melrose St. Associated costs in the amount of $536,406\nwill be allocated from the project account (No. 52-9806-490034).\nRecommended Action: 1) Adopt a resolution approving plans and specifications for the\nSewer Upsizing on Brenner Ave and Melrose St. Project; 2) Award a contract to Mike\nPrlich and Sons, Inc. in the amount of $462,716; 3) Authorize contingency funds in the\namount of $46,000 in the same purchase order; 4) Authorize construction engineering\nfunds in the amount of $25,000; 5) Authorize a purchase order for The Solis Group in the\namount of $2,690 for Community Workforce Agreement (CWA) project administration;\n6) Authorize the City Manager and the City Attorney to make any necessary,\nnon-monetary changes to the contract; and 7) Authorize the City Manager and the City\nClerk to execute the contract.\n
