15.\nAcceptance of Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant\nIt is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:\n1) Accept the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant from the Office of\nTraffic Safety (OTS) in the Amount of $440,000;\n2) Adopt the following resolution:\nRESOLUTION NO. 2025-121 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE\nCITY OF POMONA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FY 2025-26 OPERATING\nBUDGET TO INCREASE REVENUE ESTIMATES AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE\nAMOUNT OF $440,000\n3) Authorize The City Manager, Or Designee, To Execute Any and All Agreements on\nBehalf of the City, In Substantially the Form Submitted, Subject to Review and\nApproval as to Form by the City Attorney;\n4) Adopt the following DUI/CDL Checkpoint operation directives:\na. If Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), or any other federal agency\nconducting immigration enforcement, arrives at a Pomona Police checkpoint\noperation, it will be shut down and cancelled immediately.\nb. Signage will include “Not an ICE Checkpoint” for vehicles approaching the\ncheckpoint.\nc. Concerned members of the public will be allowed to monitor the checkpoint from a\ndesignated area outside of the checkpoint work area, or any other area the public\nis allowed to access. Observers cannot interfere with normal checkpoint\noperations.
