ERICKSON]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider directing staff to explore the\ndevelopment of a Native Plant Landscape Program to advance the City’s\nclimate resilience goals while supporting and encouraging landscaping\nprofessionals to prioritize native plant landscaping.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct staff to explore the development of a\nNative Plant Landscape Program to promote the use of California Native\nPlants in public spaces and encourage best practices in landscape\nmanagement; and 2) Return to Council with a draft framework or policy\nrecommendations for further consideration during FY 27.
