E. ORDINANCE NO. 724 AMENDING TITLE III: ADMINISTRATION, CHAPTER\n30 CITY COUNCIL, SECTION 30.02 COMPENSATION OF THE SAN GABRIEL\nMUNICIPAL CODE TO ADJUST THE COMPENSATION OF CITY COUNCIL\nMEMBERS PURSUANT TO SENATE BILL 329 – SECOND READING AND\nADOPTION\nOrdinance No. 724 would change City Council compensation to $1275 monthly,\neffective the first full pay period after the seating of new or re-elected City\nCouncil Members following the November 2026 election. Funds would be\nbudgeted in Fiscal Year 2026-2027. There is no fiscal impact in the current\nbudget year. The impact to the General Fund would be an increase of $381.30\nmonthly ($4,575.60 annually) per council member, and $22,878 total annual\nincrease for all five council members, to be budgeted in Fiscal Year 2026-27.\nCalifornia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Determination: Not a Project as\ndefined in Section 15378 of the State CEQA Guidelines.\nRecommended Action:\nStaff recommends that the City Council waive reading, conduct the second\nreading by title only and adopt Ordinance No. 724 entitled, “An Ordinance of\nthe City Council of San Gabriel, California, Amending Title III: Administration,\nChapter 30 City Council, Section 30.02 Compensation of the San Gabriel\nMunicipal Code to adjust the Compensation of City Council Members Pursuant\nto Senate Bill 329.”
