10.\nNOTICE INVITING BIDS: WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT ON SEVENTH\nSTREET BETWEEN VALLEY BOULEVARD AND SHORB STREET – F2M25-63,\nN2M25-174\nThe Utilities Department regularly installs water mains to replace aging pipelines and to\nimprove system reliability and water quality. The six-inch cast iron water main pipes on\nSeventh Street between Valley and Shorb were installed in the 1930’s. The replacement\nof lines greatly improves flow and firefighting capabilities in an emergency. This project\nwill replace the existing six-inch cast iron water mains with new twelve-inch ductile iron\nwater mains. Plans and specifications have been prepared. Staff has reviewed the plans\nand found them to be consistent with the City’s standards.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve the distribution of a Notice Inviting Bids\nto qualified contractors for the Water Main Replacement Project on Seventh Street\nbetween Valley Boulevard and Shorb Street with bids due no later than 10:30 a.m. on\nJanuary 8, 2026 and opened at 11:00 a.m. that same day; and, direct staff to undertake\nthe steps necessary to finalize the Council’s action.
