Introduction of an Ordinance to Repeal and Replace Chapter 11.40 of the\nDel Mar Municipal Code to Prohibit the Use of Expanded Polystyrene and\nSingle-Use, Non-Compostable Disposable Food Service Ware Citywide, and\nSingle-Use Plastic Beverage Bottles at City Facilities and City-Sponsored\nEvents\nRecommended Action: Staff recommends that the City Council introduce an Ordinance\n(Attachment A) to repeal and replace Del Mar Municipal Code (DMMC) Chapter 11.40 to\nprohibit the use of expanded polystyrene and single-use, non-compostable disposable\nfood service ware; the sale of expanded polystyrene coolers and ice chests or other food\ncontainers; and the use of single-use plastic beverage bottles at City facilities and City-\nsponsored events.\nReference: Clerk’s File No. 401-4
