(4)\n25-1438\nCD 14\nARTS, PARKS, LIBRARIES, AND COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT\nCOMMITTEE REPORT relative to activating Department of Recreation\nand Parks (RAP) facilities in Council District (CD) 14 as evening art\nand cultural gallery spaces for creative expression, cultural exchange,\nand Know Your Rights education.\nRecommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Jurado –\nRodriguez):\nINSTRUCT the City Administrative Officer (CAO), with the assistance\nof the RAP and Department of Cultural Affairs, to report to the Council\non the following:\na. Feasibility of developing a pilot program in CD 14 to further\nactivate RAP facilities, including recreation centers,\ngymnasiums, outdoor stages, and bandshells as evening art\nand cultural gallery spaces focused on creative expression,\ncultural exchange, and Know Your Rights education.\nb. Identification of potential sites across the district suitable for\nimplementation of the program, including recreation centers,\ngymnasiums, outdoor stages, and bandshells.\nc. Methods to identify and engage community-based artists,\ncultural organizations, and immigrant-serving nonprofits as\nprogram partners.\nd. A detailed program proposal and implementation plan, including\nbudget estimates, staffing needs, and potential funding sources,\nwith engagement and assistance from CD 14 on programmatic\ndevelopment.\nFiscal Impact Statement: Neither the CAO nor the Chief Legislative\nAnalyst has completed a financial analysis of this report.
