(6)\n25-1533\nARTS, PARKS, LIBRARIES, AND COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT\nCOMMITTEE REPORT and RESOLUTION relative to the initiation\nof proceedings for the 2026-27 Proposition K Assessment.\nRecommendation for Council action:\nADOPT the accompanying RESOLUTION to Initiate Proceedings for\nthe 2026-27 Proposition K assessment, attached to the Proposition K\n– L.A. For Kids Steering Committee (LAFKSC) report dated\nDecember 11, 2025, attached to the Council file, which instructs the\nCity Engineer to present a report to the Council which describes the\nacquisition and capital improvements to parks and recreational and\ncommunity facilities serving youth citywide to be undertaken in the\nupcoming fiscal year, pursuant to the Landscaping and Lighting Act of\n1972.\nFiscal Impact Statement: The LAFKSC reports that approval of the\nrecommended action will initiate proceedings to levy the annual $25\nmillion Proposition K assessment which will be used to fund\nacquisitions and capital improvements to parks and recreational and\ncommunity facilities serving youth citywide.
