6.\nNOTICE INVITING BIDS: 2026 USDA SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM – F2M26-\n24, N2M26-17\nThe Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally funded program administered\nby the State of California Department of Education. The proposed SFSP will begin\ndistributing lunches and snacks on June 1, 2026 and will be provided Monday through\nFriday through August 7, 2026. The City will be eligible for reimbursement by the California\nDepartment of Education for lunches, snacks and operational costs.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve the City’s participation in the 2026\nSummer Food Service Program; authorize staff to circulate a Notice Inviting Bids to secure\na vendor to provide prepared lunches and snacks for the program; and, direct staff to\nundertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
