D. Garvey Park Office Building & Gymnasium Reroofing Project—Project No. 39006 —\nAward of Construction Contract\nAs part of the City' s Fiscal Year 2021- 22 Capital Improvement Program, the\nCity Council approved the Garvey Park Office Building & Gymnasium Reroofing\nProject. The Project scope involves removing the existing deteriorated roof systems\nto the structural decks, installing new flashings, drains assemblies, and roofing at the\nGarvey Park office building & gymnasium. On December 13, 2022, the City received\neight ( 8) sealed bids.\nRecommendation: That the City Council take the following actions:\n1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a construction contract with Western\nStates Roofing, Inc. in the amount of $334, 880. In addition, authorize an amount\nof $33, 488 ( 10%) as a contingency to cover the cost of unforeseen construction\nexpenses, for a total construction budget of $368, 368; and\n2. Find the proposed work involves the rehabilitation of an existing public facility;\ntherefore, the project is Class 1 Categorically Exempt pursuant to the California\nEnvironmental Quality Act (CEQA).
