(57)\n22-1479\nPUBLIC SAFETY and BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEES’\nREPORT relative to a change in scope of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022\nProsecuting Cold Cases Using DNA (FY22 Cold Cases) Grant\nProgram.\nRecommendation for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL\nOF THE MAYOR:\nAUTHORIZE the Chief of Police, Los Angeles Police Department\n(LAPD), or designee, to:\na. Accept the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of\nJustice Assistance’s approval to revise the scope of the FY22\nCold Cases Grant Program, expanding coverage from cold\ncases in the LAPD’s South Bureau Homicide Division to include\nthose in the Robbery Homicide Division.\nb. Negotiate and execute the programmatic grant modification,\nreflecting the change in scope, subject to the review of the City\nAttorney as to form.\nFiscal Impact Statement: The City Administrative Officer (CAO)\nreports that approval of the recommendations within the report will\nexpand the scope of coverage of the FY22 Cold Cases Grant\nProgram award to include cold cases in the LAPD Robbery Homicide\nDivision. No matching funds are required for this grant. There will be\nno additional impact to the General Fund.\nFinancial Policies Statement: The CAO reports that the\nrecommendations provided in the report comply with the City’s\nFinancial Policies in that, to the extent possible, all grant funds will be\nutilized for grant-eligible activities.
