(50)\n26-0045\nPUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE REPORT relative to requesting a\nreport on the feasibility of implementing a non-emergency lift fee for\nnursing homes and long-term care facilities that request Fire\nDepartment assistance for residents who have fallen or need help\nstanding but do not require medical treatment or transport.\nRecommendation for Council action, pursuant to Motion (Hutt - Park):\nINSTRUCT the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), with the\nassistance of the City Administrative Officer (CAO) to report on the\nfeasibility of implementing a “Non-Emergency Lift” Fee, to be charged\nto nursing homes and other long-term, facilities that call the LAFD to\nassist residents of those facilities who have fallen or cannot stand\nwithout assistance, but otherwise do not need additional medical\ncare.\nFiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Adminstrative Officer nor\nthe Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis of this\nreport.
