(58)\n22-0057\nPUBLIC SAFETY and BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEES’\nREPORT relative to a no-cost extension for the Fiscal Year 2021\nCollaborative Crisis Response Training (FY21 CRT) Grant Program.\nRecommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL\nOF THE MAYOR:\n1. AUTHORIZE the Chief of Police, Los Angeles Police\nDepartment (LAPD), or designee, to:\na. Accept the United States Department of Justice, Bureau\nof Justice Assistance’s approval of a no-cost extension for\nthe FY21 CRT Grant Program award, extending the award\nperiod from October 1, 2022 through September 30,\n2024; to October 1, 2022 through December 31, 2025.\nb. Negotiate and execute the grant agreement for the period\nof October 1, 2022 through December 31, 2025, subject to\nthe review of the City Attorney as to form.\n2. AUTHORIZE the LAPD to prepare Controller instructions for\nany technical adjustments, subject to the approval of the City\nAdministrative Officer (CAO); and, AUTHOIRZE the Controller\nto implement the instructions.\nFiscal Impact Statement: The CAO reports that the recommendations\nwithin the report will authorize the continued expenditure of the CRT\nGrant award totaling $500,000 from the United States Department of\nJustice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for the term from October 1,\n2022 through December 31, 2025. No matching funds are required for\nthis grant. There will be no additional impact to the General Fund.\nFinancial Policies Statement: The CAO reports that the\nrecommendations provided in the report comply with the City’s\nFinancial Policies in that, to the extent possible, all grant funds will be\nutilized for grant-eligible activities.
