10.\nGRANT AGREEMENT WITH SAN GABRIEL VALLEY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT\nTO SUPPORT THE CITY’S COMPREHENSIVE WATER MASTER PLAN UPDATE –\nF2M25-51, F2M26-18, M2M26-35\nThe San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District (SGVMWD) provides reliable\nsupplemental water for the communities of Alhambra, Azusa, Monterey Park, and Sierra\nMadre in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner. The SGVMWD also\nprovides financial assistance to implement programs that will increase water conservation\nand promote water use efficiency. The City applied for financial assistance via the\nSGVMWD’s FY 2025 City Grant Program to update the City's Water Master Plan (WMP).\nThe update aims to create a comprehensive WMP to guide strategic planning and\nbudgeting. In addition, it will proactively address long-term growth and emergency\nresponse by anticipating demand and regulatory shifts. The primary goal is to guarantee\nwater security and environmental health for the entire community.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve a Grant Agreement to receive an\namount of $50,000.00 from the San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District to provide\nsupport in the development of the City’s comprehensive Water Master Plan (WMP); and,\ndirect staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
