(37)\n26-0055\nARTS, PARKS, LIBRARIES, AND COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT and\nBUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEES’ REPORT relative to the\nKaiser Permanente Operation Splash Program grant application and\naward for 2026 and 2027 to support Department of Recreation and\nParks (RAP) aquatic programming.\nRecommendations for Council action, SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL\nOF THE MAYOR:\n1. AUTHORIZE the RAP to submit a two-year grant application to\nKaiser Permanente for the Operation Splash Program\nGrant (Grant) for 2026 and 2027 in the amount of $408,000.\n2. AUTHORIZE the General Manager, RAP, to accept the Grant\nfunds, if awarded, from Kaiser Permanente in support of\naquatics programming.\n3. DESIGNATE the General Manager, RAP, or designee, as the\nagent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all Grant\ndocuments, including but not limited to applications,\nagreements, amendments, and payment requests, which may\nbe necessary for the acceptance and use of Grant funds.\n4. AUTHORIZE the Chief Accounting Employee, RAP, or\ndesignee, to:\na. Establish the necessary account and/or to appropriate\nfunding received within "Recreation and Parks Grant"\nFund No. 205 to accept the Grant funds in the amount of\n$408,000 for aquatics programming.\nb. Make any technical corrections as necessary to carry out\nthe intent of the Board of Recreation and Park\nCommissioners (Board) report dated January 15, 2026,\nattached to the Council file.\nFiscal Impact Statement: The Board reports that acceptance of the\nKaiser Permanente Grant does not require the RAP to provide\nmatching funds; therefore, it would not impact the RAP’s General\nFund.
