F.2.\nPROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE NEIGHBORHOOD RESILIENCE TEAMS [L. MEISTER]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will direct Staff to promote and encourage\nthe development of Neighborhood Resilience Teams, utilizing existing\npartnerships with neighborhood watch groups, residents’ associations,\nand community organizations to educate the West Hollywood community\non this emergency preparedness model. This initiative aims to engage the\ncommunity on this topic to help expand emergency preparedness efforts\nat the micro level, including developing a plan at the block or\nneighborhood level.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Direct Staff to evaluate the concept of\nNeighborhood Resilience Teams and consider options for encouraging\nsuch efforts within the West Hollywood community; 2) Direct Staff to use\nthe City’s communication channels to promote the concept of\nNeighborhood Resilience Teams and encourage community participation;\nand 3) Direct Staff to conduct outreach to neighborhood watch groups,\ntenants’ groups and HOAs, community partners, and other neighborhood,\ncommunity, and faith-based organizations to assist in promotion and\nparticipation in Neighborhood Resilience Teams and emergency\npreparedness efforts.
