D.1.\nAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST\nHOLLYWOOD, ADOPTING CHAPTER 9.46 OF ARTICLE 3 OF TITLE 9\nOF THE MUNICIPAL CODE PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION ON THE\nBASIS OF FAMILY OR RELATIONSHIP STRUCTURE [L. LANGER]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider approving an ordinance\nadopting proposed Chapter 9.46 of the Municipal Code to prohibit\ndiscrimination on the basis of family or relationship structure, including\nmulti-partner families, and consensually non-monogamous and\npolyamorous relationships. The City Council will also give direction on\npotential expansion of protections for polyamorous and multi-partner\npartnerships, mirrored after the City’s domestic partnership protections.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Introduce and conduct first reading, by title\nonly, of Ordinance No. 26-________: “AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY\nCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD ADOPTING\nCHAPTER 9.46 OF ARTICLE 3 OF TITLE 9 OF THE WEST\nHOLLYWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION ON\nTHE BASIS OF FAMILY OR RELATIONSHIP STRUCTURE”; and 2)\nProvide direction on whether to create a staff working group to develop\npolicies and legislation for registering and providing benefits to multi-\npartner and polyamorous partnerships and if so, assign a level of priority\nfor the project, and to return with recommendations to the City Council.
