7.\nAUTHORIZE RFP: PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND SUPPORT\nSERVICES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT – F2M26-28, RFP2M26-2\nThe Police Department has been using a contracted firm for Professional Information\nTechnology and Support Services. The contract is due to expire on June 30, 2026. The\nDepartment is seeking a qualified firm with experience in the public safety field that will\nprovide critical information technology and support services, with emphasis on mobile and\nwireless technology, networking infrastructure, service and application administration,\nprogramming, project management and backup and recovery solutions. The selected firm\nwill also need to assist the Police Department with geographic information systems,\ncomputer aided dispatching, records management systems, body-worn camera and in-\ncar camera systems, and various other public safety applications. The awarded contract\nwill be for a five-year period from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2031.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council authorize the distribution of a Request for\nProposals for Professional Information Technology and Support Services for the Police\nDepartment; and, direct staff to undertake the steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
