Agenda Item 8
8.\nAPPROVAL OF A THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WITH\nPERFORMANCE TRUCK REPAIR, INC. – F2M21-41, C2M21-35, M2M26-42\nOn May 10, 2021, the City Council awarded a contract to Performance Truck Repair Inc.\n(PTR) for preventive maintenance and service repair for emergency fire apparatus in the\nFire Department fleet in the amount of $265,000.00 annually. On June 27, 2022, the City\nCouncil approved an amendment to modify the amount to $365,000.00; and on April 14,\n2025, the City Council approved a second amendment to modify the amount to\n$465,000.00 annually. The contract is due to expire on June 30, 2026. Due to unforeseen\nmajor apparatus repairs and the age of the fleet, it is necessary to increase the contract\nby an additional $150,000.00 per year to continue the necessary maintenance and repairs\nfor the remainder of the fiscal year, including a one-year extension. The Fire Department\nwould like to continue to work with PTR. PTR has consistently been the lowest bidder in\nprevious years, and they have agreed to continue their service at the same rate and terms\nset in 2021. Therefore, staff recommends the City Council award a one-year contract\nextension.\nRecommended Action:\nCity Council approve an amendment to the contract\nbetween the City of Alhambra and Performance Truck Repair Inc. (Contract No. C2M21-\n35) for an additional amount of $150,000.00 to reflect a not to exceed amount of\n$615,000.00 annually; extend the contract for one additional year, subject to final\nlanguage approval by the City Manager and City Attorney; and, direct staff to undertake\nthe steps necessary to finalize Council’s action.
