E.2.\nUPDATE ON EXPLORATION OF ADDITIONAL HARM REDUCTION\nTOOLS [Y. QUARKER, T. CARTER, D. MURRAY]:\nSUBJECT: The City Council will consider implementation of a Community\nHealth Hub pilot program through the purchase, installation, and operation\nof one publicly accessible vending machine to provide free health and\nharm-reduction supplies. The pilot advances the City Council’s April 21,\n2025 direction to expand harm-reduction tools and strengthens access to\nfree, anonymous, 24/7 public health and wellness supplies for the\ncommunity.\nRECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Authorize staff to move forward with\nimplementation of a one-year Community Health Hub Pilot Program, with\nan approximate startup cost of $112,900; 2) Provide direction on the\npreferred pilot location from the site options outlined in this report; and 3)\nAuthorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with\nthe LA LGBT Center’s WeHo Life program of $93,000 to supply and stock\nthe vending machine and develop collateral materials.
